    From what I have read sounds like you have coon to deal with. If you are getting a live trap make sure you have it secured in place so the coon can't tip it over and escape. Happens to many times :/

    I had a chick do the same thing. Its leg seemed to shrivel up and dry out. I didn't have the heart to let the animal suffer that way.:/

    if you ever have another problem with spurs use a dremel tool i use it on my dogs nails and it seem that it would work on spurs just as well
