This may sound daft but it's been bugging me for days since I watched a documentary about caged hens, my question is how do they constantly lay ..?
I though chickens need to not be stressed, happy, healthy, well fed etc to lay ?
Surely to god these caged hens aren't happy?
Hi, I have a few nesting boxes in my coop but only one seems to be getting used, will chickens lay in the same box or do they all need their own ?
Thanks
Wow, a big response!
Well I found some chicken feed from a local man who has had chickens for years now.
He orders it online and gets it delivered.
Thanks for all the info people
Ah right cheers for this, I've recently (2 days ago) bought some hens just under a year old, still waiting on my first egg though! Fingers crossed lol!
Ah right cheers, I just have one big cage for 3 of the chickens at the minute, I just wasn't sure if they will lay just on the straw or if they needed nesting boxes to lay. Thanks
Hi, I recently bought some ginger ranger chickens, I'm just wondering do they need to settle in before I get any eggs?
How long usually is it ill be waiting?
Thanks
Hi today I bought a few Ginger Rangers, when I got them home I realised two of the hens had lost feather near there bottoms and it looked quite red and sore, can anyone tell me what this is?
I'll upload better pictures in the morning.
Thanks
