We have 7 roos and 8 girls. HAVE to rehome our sweet boys. Top roo has been a great teacher and these boys will be awesome roos for any flock. True gentleman & great leaders. 8 months old. Hormones are may starting to kick in and their finding their crow. So cute!
Yes. I have 2 light Brahmas, 1 buff Brahma, a white EE, & either the Dutch Leghorn or the BCM. I have 7 and at least 4, probably 5 need to go ASAP. I have pics of you like.
Understood cafarmgirl. Our goal is 25, not the 30. Right now, we only have 15 ( + adding 4 soon). That makes 19. For a coop w a tight (?) Capacity for 30 I think sounds good. Would you agree? And for the run to hold 25 eventually? We are planning to build another coop & run soon too. Hoping for...
I have 8 definite girls with 4 that will be added as they are currently 4 and 5 mos old. That means only 1 roo with maybe a backup but I need 4 more DEFINITE girls. Thank you so much.
p.s. Want some sweet roosters? he he
The coop is an old shed turned coop with a concrete floor. However, I really like the idea of extending it like you mentioned. We could just cut out a door and do that extension. That would work great to for separating some of these adolescent roos too. ;-)

What was supposed to be my Marans girls turned out to be boys so I can't really say. Altogether, I have RIRs, EEs, BRs, Brahmas, 1 BO, 1 Polish, 1 Dutch leghorn, and the Marans. My Marans boys are by far the best all around. Superb leader, gentleman, flock protector, food finder, hawk watcher...
I wish I knew the proper run size then before I had it built. What would the equal run size be for 30? Half of the run is covered and the other is wired. We have had a lot of hawks around but no losses. In central Fl it rarely, if ever gets to below freezing so the sides are just wire but we do...
This thread has been so helpful to me. I am now realizing, (at 32 weeks), that I have 7 roos and 8 girls in my flock. (I also have 4 four month old pullets that are integrating but still separated.) 4 of the boys haven't shown any signs of mating or crowing and are really suppressing the roo...
