Just did a 10 min epsom soak. Took some pictures. I don’t know but it looks like the foot pad is discolored? Also there’s a speck there too, but when I tried investing it I can’t quite tell if it’s just dirty dry skin or a dry scab. It just rained this morning, so her feet are dirtier than normal.
Ive looked a few times over the days. Even in the very corners of the webbings. Nothing. It’s possible that there was a very tiny puncture that quickly healed in a matter of days, which would be why I can’t find anything. But I’ve never seen swelling like this with bumble foot. Nor have I seen...
She will try and curl it. I looks like the swelling restricts her ability to curl it all the way, but she tries to. It is definitely reddish-purple. Can’t tell if that’s just from the swelling or the pressure pressing against blood vessels. From experience she’s miserable seperated. I have her...
Noticed this a week ago. Kept an eye on it. Noticed it was warm to the touch two days ago. I applied PRID and lightly wrapped it. Today it is a little more swollen and red. A few weeks ago I did see her hobbling down the driveway trying to run with the others. There have been no bumble foot...
Yes! Just saw it. She’s doing well. Loves her flock mates. She was yelling up a storm today over not getting her share of scrambled eggs. She is a funny girl. Thank you for asking!!
She hasn’t. Well not that I’m aware of. She’s one of two I have that lay green. It’s possible, but but I just don’t know for sure. I do know the other gal we have tends to have a bit larger eggs, but that could also be more likely her system working itself out seeing as they’re 5.5/6 months old...
Update: Ester has been doing very well. Gained some of the weight back, eating well and mouthing off 😆. Even pecking the others to put them in their place. Problem is she has laid two tiny lash eggs again. I’ve discovered that when she goes into the nesting area and does the little egg song...
No. Don’t mind at all. Just want her to be healthy and happy. I know this will be a reoccurring issue, but out of curiosity why do I not want her laying in general? Would it create more risk with egg production thus leading to more lash egg issues?
Oh wow. I haven’t heard of this. Thank you for bring this to the table. That’s quite interesting. I’m sorry you lost her. I hope the many years were good ones. The antibiotics worked great. She is back to her old self. Even yelling haha. She hasn’t laid. Only time will tell, but we keep close...
Yes. You’re absolutely right. I agree that it’s still being a bit weak still from the disease and that it will take some time to get better. Watching her I can see that she shys away from food when everyone else starts coming towards this feeder or that, or this bit of apple or this bit of...
Hey! Thanks for asking. Today is the first day off the antibiotics. Last night was the first night back sleeping in the coop. It’s been super hot at night too :/ Got to start somewhere. She seems to be doing well overall. I didn’t see any unusual poop under the roost bars so that’s a bonus. She...
Yes. She just
yes. She just doesn’t want to be inside. I think that might be the issue. I just don’t think 94 de
yes. We haven’t had an issue since we did the coconut trick. It almost seems like it doesn’t fill like the others. I see her eat. It’s weird. This whole thing is just weird.
