About 5 months but the size increase is nothing to brag about … they are still small when I compare to my other two (small white rock mixed and RIR mixed)… the white rock lays humongous eggs
I have a lavender orpington and her eggs are small as well. she started laying in January 2022 and I thought the eggs were going to increase in size eventually. She has been laying nonstop sin January and the eggs still small.
My 6 months old lavender Orpington just started laying eggs. I was surprised at the size of her eggs … they are as small as seramas’ eggs. Hopefully as she gets more mature her eggs will increase in size. I have two other mixed breeds (RIR mixed and white rock mixed ) and their eggs are regular...
The same thing happened to me today... my 3-month-old buff orpington pullet was dead when I came home from work. She has not shown any sign of illness ... I have a lavender orpington (same age) and they are house together in a big coop... the lavender seems to be ok. I am puzzled .... :(
I finally got two chicks of my favorite breed. I was told that for sure they are females, but I have my doubts about the lavender. They are about 4 weeks old. The buff is clearly a "little lady" but the other one acts like a little roo... aggressive and always walking like a little soldier lol...
Hello friends... any recommendations of breeders/hatcheries in South Florida. I am mostly interested in Cochin, Brahma, Wyandotte, and Orpington pullets
