So my Japanese quail decided to be broody again after giving up after 5 days last time. The only problem is she became broody while my male quail was in quarantine. When I placed him back, he hassled her so much she fled her nest. I threw out those eggs she brooded for a few days. But it didn't...
I just tried that! It's amazing! Having tried using a torch with not much success, I used the iPhone at 5 days and could see the blood vessels! That's with a spotty cortunix egg!!!! Thank you!!
That's great news for spook. Funny our kids named one of our quails Flower, too.
She's been back on her nest since late last night. Probably dead as it was only the 5th day but we will see I guess.
UPDATE - sad news. She moved her eggs to another location, sat on them for half the day then gave up . I noticed them cold a few hrs later. I have taken half of them and they will sit in the incubator. Hopefully they might keep going? The other half I left in case she changes her mind. Though...
