its been as low as 15 F in the early morning and gets to 40 - 55 F by day. the coop is shut at night with a small opening for circulation, it is able to maintain the heat at night with 41 chickens breathing and pooping they stay quite comfortable at night huddled even at frigid temps (below 0 F).
