We started a new project today. Around the garden plots we are putting up a chicken fence so they can spend a couple hours a day munching on fresh leftovers and pesky grasses and weeds that are popping up. Was wondering if I should relocate my herb garden? Will they (I imagine so) eat basil...

Maybe just silly but a tip I learned years ago about boiling "easy peel eggs" is to add a splash of white vinegar to the water when you add the eggs. Seems to work 90% better for me at least. Hope it helps
Sept 25th 2016 we became productive egg gathering chicken owners! One from our Rhode Island Red and the other from our Ameracaunas. Chewy was very interested and now checks for eggs in the coop a couple times a day
New to the site as of today! Have 11 chickens and a couple have started laying!! How exciting :-). Took my dog for grooming today and Honey our sweetest Rhode Island red had to come along for the ride in our new Jeep. She loved it!
