Thanks everyone. I've decided that I'll forego the entire idea and just start from scratch in a separate part of my yard. I'd rather my hens be happy and healthy, and we have nearly an acre to work with. I just didn't want this to go to waste as a composting corner, but it is what it is.
Thank you. I planned on having them roam my yard / garden when I'm home (roughly 7 hours of the day), but I didn't think about the space required when I won't be around to keep an eye on them.
