    I didn't realize it lasted that long. I love these beautiful girls so I am fine waiting it out. I appreciate the head's up. Like I said before, I do have 5 girls that are 5 months old so hopefully they will start laying soon. I really appreciate everyone's advice!!

    Thank you! That is very helpful. My coop is very secure but who knows what's passing by at night up here in the woods. I have 5 pullets that are 5 months old but I thought these older girls would be laying by now. I haven't noticed them losing feathers. I guess I will have to just wait and see...

    Chicken canoe- Good point! This is my first year raising chickens so I haven't gone through that yet. How long does it last? (Molting)

    Three weeks ago I got 2 hens from a friend that are around 2 yrs old. They had been laying regularly and then stopped when I got them, which I expected with the stress of the move. I got one egg 2 weeks ago but nothing since. Any advice??
