    I am having this same issue but I don't think heat is the culprit here because temps have been around the 50s. Trying to figure out why I get a funky smelling eggs every now and then!

    Is it normal for my BSL (who normally lays small to medium size eggs), to lay a MASSIVE egg?? It's 3 in tall and 2in wide...Seriously,I have no idea HOW it came out of HER!! The egg on the right is not hers but it is pretty close to the size that she normally lays. I mean WOW!

    Thanks! I looked it up and that's what they definitely look like. Thanks so much I will keep an eye on it and hopefully it doesn't spread to the other chickens.

    Can anyone tell me what this is? My chick has a few of these, one her comb, another on the back of her leg and this one by her eye. Could it be the other chickens pecking her?[/IMG]
