    hey! Yes we took her back and got a new Sussex who seems so much better. Although introducing her to the Blackrock at home has been testing! Shes getting pecked at no end but I think that's just the pecking order being established again, and she's obviously a strange hen!

    My white Sussex is really ill, sits down all the time, has raspy breathing and watery poop. We are taking her back to the farmer today as we've only had her 6 days and she been like this all week!

    what chickens do you have? Do you find any breeds are easier to care for or are friendlier? Our Blackrock is really moody and skittish and bullies the other two!

    To be honest the majority of daylight hours they are free range, we let them out at 6am for a couple of hours,then my fiancé is back early afternoon and they stay out until they take themselves off to bed. Thanks for the tip, that may help them to get to know me more if I only give them treats...

    Thank you! I was worried that she may have a respiratory infection, we only have one coup so cannot separate her from the other hens :/ which is quite worrying. My Blackrock bullies the white sussex, and maybe she does this cz she knows she is sick? Are u allowed to give them treats every day?
