Best waterer for turkey poults in brooder?

1000% agree - we had to fill our trough with some rocks from our yard because we had a 2-week-old poult drown themselves in it.

    Royal palm question

We incubated a batch of turkey eggs that we were told were all royal palm. The ones that hatched all looked the same in the first few weeks. The eggs were all stereotypical-looking turkey eggs. However recently - one of them is looking more like a chicken than a royal palm. The black tips...

    Eggs are gone

I'm in Georgia and the breeds are 3 Rhode Island Red, 4 Barred Rock and 5 EE of which I fell for the Ameracauna sign at the feed store.

    Eggs are gone

Yes, the temp dropped from high 80's to mid/high 70's. Will providing a heat lamp help? I wasn't thinking about that with it being 73-78 all day still.

    Eggs are gone

we have new hens, but they all started laying. We were getting 10-11 eggs per day (12 ladies). All of a sudden 4 days ago, production dropped to 1-3 eggs per day. I've in teased food and water to make sure that wasn't it. Gave them extra treats. This is my first year. Any suggestions...

    Egg Carton advice please :)

Has anyone ordered from this company and is $0.35/carton a decent price? I like the colors and that they are blank, but I don't want to make a bad purchase if there is something better you guys have run across...

    White specs on egg

Some of my gals have started laying and some have yet to start (I think). I have 5 EE, 4 barred rock, 3 Reds. We are getting 5-6 eggs a day (mix of brown and green). Recently a brown egg is speckled. Is this normal or should we not eat these? Is one of my gals sick? Thanks in advance...

    YO GEORGIANS! :)

We are on a little over 2 acres and are dying for the day we can have a small farm ourselves and become as self-reliant as possible. We are pushing it right now in our neighborhood with our chickens - but I plan to bribe the neighbors with fresh eggs :))

    YO GEORGIANS! :)

Hello again everyone! Things went crazy here. I homeschool and all the new curriculum arrived and my kids were so excited that I spent two weeks straight going through it all and making lesson plans. Then we started school up two weeks ago. Was a good distraction from us checking the calendar...

    Pawhut Coop Kit

Pawhut is what we bought as well. The wood is soft and thin. We decided to keep and assemble it anyhow and hoped it would last 1-2 years -- buying us a little time to figure out what we were doing and build one. Live a learn - it was a complete waste of any money. The coop barely lasted 3...

    YO GEORGIANS! :)

@livhatcher Sounds like an awesome car ride to me. Hubby has the t-posts sunk and leveled. We are waiting in Amazon to deliver the hardware cloth. Even with prime, we have to wait until the 8th. I can't wait until the gals get in their new run. We will have enough to lay a perimeter in the...
