    Should I Be Concerned???

Wow, great pictures. I guess I will leave them be now as tonight is the end of day 23. I swear I heard a peep this morning, but haven't heard anything since- maybe it's just resting. We've never had hatching issues before (this is our 4th year), but this is the first time with the Brisnea. I...

    Should I Be Concerned???

Temp has remained steady at 99.5. I'm nervous to candle them now in case I make matters worse. I don't see any pics of internal pips. How long can they survive inside the egg at this point? When should be my drop dead date to hold out? Thanks for replying btw.

    Should I Be Concerned???

We set our eggs Monday, April 6th at 9pm. We candled on day 8 and found 8 out of 11 to be fertile. This past Friday we removed the egg turner and increased humidity to 65% to prepare for hatch day. Around 4am on Monday, a new chick hatched. We left it in the incubator for about 20 hours before...

help! My 8 month old rooster is missing feathers....

Just brought my wife out but he really didn't want to be held today so couldn't get a better picture. She thinks he may just be molting. While we were standing there, he shook and tiny white feathers flew out. Ill just keep an eye on him.

    Questions... and a mean rooster...

We don't have children and never will. It's very rare that children do come over and I wouldn't have them out free ranging if kids were over. When we started our new flock over, we were given 6 chicks that were supposed to be all hens. I believe my wife, who has been against this rooster from...

    Cornish Hen- Special Needs

I'm hoping someone can give me advice. Last week my wife and I bought 6 more chicks (3 sex link pullets, 2 silkies, and 1 Cornish Hen). They are 6 days old. We do not plan on using the Cornish for meat, but already she seems to be outgrowing the others. I am nervous about her (or him) getting...

    Questions... and a mean rooster...

Hi, I also have a Orpington that was supposed to be a hen and turned out to be a rooster. He has never attacked me and has been fine when my mom has gone in to collect eggs and check on them. My wife however, he attacks. He will attack her sometimes as soon as she opens the door. He has...
