    First egg

We close our coop every night and open it back up in the morning , they lay in the box every time. Good luck and congrats on your first egg.

    Silkies feet

Thank you! I’m new to silkies and I’ve never noticed spur bids on my other chickens, so I was worried

    Silkies feet

I have baby silkies, about 6-7 weeks old... they ALL 4 seem to have spur buds... could I have ended up with 4 roosters?!

    Pasty Butt

I have a 3 week old feather footed bantam, and she had pasty butt earlier. I was able to clean her up, but wondered if there is anything I can to do prevent this from happening?

I am the addict... hubby the enabler. I got the 4 silkies a few weeks ago, and the new babies over the weekend... he said “you’re not going to be able to get anymore” with a grin... LOL

I just got Silkies for the first time... any advice? They are 5 weeks old and will be headed out to the coop with their big chicken sisters soon!

I have 6, year old chickens, a year old guinea, 2 ,3 month old ducks, 4 , 5 week old Silkies, 3 3 week old bantams, and a 3 week old feather footed bantam. The 5 week and 3 week olds are still in the house. So 17 total. It’s become an addiction

Thank you for clearing that up! We just got him yesterday and have to send him back today, he chased 2 of my hens away This experience has shown us that we are not Rooster people

I never allow my children to chase our chickens. Our hens are very friendly and like to be carried around the yard. Are you saying its not a good idea to introduce a rooster in to our flock? I don't want to stress out my hens

Hi all! We have just today introduced a Rooster to our flock. My children have named him Titan. a very nice pastor from a local church offered him to us. He is a barred Plymouth rock.. I believe. Now the advice I need is, how do we get him used to us? The pastor told us that he is very friendly...
