    First Egg Countdown

My two oldest hens (28 weeks and 24 weeks) just started laying only 2 days apart! The oldest laid first, then 2 days later the other started. We were quite shocked. Guess chickens can get on the same 'cycle'?

    The No-Plan Wonder

Here are updated pics..... We ended up getting a load of sand today. Got that all spread out and leveled. I wanted something courser. We ended up with cement sand. We also built out nesting boxes. I've heard that when chickens start doing the 'squat' instead of runaway, they might...

    The No-Plan Wonder

Thanks! Both ends open up as whole doors for easy cleaning. Now I think we should get one of those big long spatulas on a stick so we can scrap the poo out ;) My husband did it so he could just get the blower and blow the shavings out the end. We've actually got some rubber sealing...

    Questioning my Lavender Orp

When I bought my lavender orp and my copper moran, they were unsexed. The breeder did his little 'tests' to try my best shot at a pullet, but of course he didn't guarantee. Wondering if anyone could help with their opinions. I'm afraid if it's a roo, he's going to have to find a new home.
