    I"m in Australia, we don't have hawks. We did lose a girl to a fox a few weeks ago but I doubt it could be that. We do get cats wondering into our area now and then but I'm still doubtful.

    Thank you, that is good to hear it might be healing! Though no, we don't have roosters. She is one of 6. They mostly live in harmony but they do have a small go at one another now and then. Could another girl have pecked her too hard? Or could she have gotten a scratch from wire in the coop...
