Well you guys talked me out of ordering from McMurray. We always order from cackle, but they don't have BLRW at cackle. But after the whole sunday thing I will NOT be ordering from them. I will just find a breeder semi-close. Cackle always ships on monday or wednesdays and we get them a day or...
We ordered Bantam EE's from Cackle last year and they are laying up a storm. This year we have ordered standard size from them..they should arrive first week of march. We ordered a couple orders from them last year and were very pleased with all our chickens. So much so we have ordered more. I...
Sorry to hear this...we always order from Cackle and had good luck, but we wait until March to get ours. I'm sure the weather had something to do with it. They will refund you or replace them if you call them within 48 hours I think of getting them.
Glad everyone else made it!! Yes, its always hard for me to cull them. In fact, my dad or husband is the one who has to do it.
Good luck with the rest!
I see soo many ads where people are saying in big caps NOT HATCHERY BIRDS..
Just curious why most people don't want hatchery birds...am I missing something?
I just raise them for the joy of hatching and of course fresh eggs and the chickens personalities so I am stumped at this.
Sorry if...
So after much debate we decided to buy a cabinet style incubator that holds 270 regular chicken eggs. It should be here in 2-3 weeks...
Its the GQF 1502 sports incubator. We have always just hatched a few in two styrofoam incubators, so I'm excited for it to get here and to get-a-hatching...
We are also getting 4 muscovy ducklings tomorrow...then my duck adventure will be done until I figure out if one of my pekin ducks is both female or both male...hopefully I got one of each, but we shall see :)
Well Saturday I got mallards and today I brought home 2 Pekin ducklings that are 1 week old. They are so cute. I can't believe I waited this long to get into ducks!!! :)
They are mallards.....I am hoping to pick up 4 week old muscovy ducks this week to raise.
The mallards I have are 6 weeks and probably didn't get much attention. But I figure with time they will learn that I am friendly and not going to hurt. I have read treats are the trick, so I will...
I always felt bad that we didn't have a HUGE lake for them is the reason I didn't get them.....but I see so many people with just kiddy pools for them and their ducks are happy...so I gave in!
My husband is like "oh gawd" , but they are the cutest things. They aren't very friendly kinda run...
I am entertaining the idea of getting some week old ducks and just curious if they can be good pets if handled daily. I would handle them daily. Do they follow you around and like to be petted, or would they rather you just leave them alone?
