    Incorporating Chicks

I just realized I never did an update. Incorporation actually went pretty well. I think the fact that the smaller chicks far outnumbered the older chicks helped a good bit. And the younger ones didn't use the boxes at first but they are using them now so thanks so much for the tip!

    Incorporating Chicks

I don't have any mineral tubs but I got some cardboard boxes and will cut some holes in them. I'll report back and let everyone know how it goes. Thanks for the tip!

    Incorporating Chicks

So today we have no choice but to incorporate our 6 week old chicks with our 10 week old chicks. I have family coming into town and we need the space the younger chicks are in and the coop set up doesn't allow for separation of the two. So with that in mind is there anything I can do to help...

    Dog thread!🐾

Lol too funny, I don't feel like I'm the greatest at names either so that's why I was hoping to get some good suggestions here. She's a Spanador - Cocker Spaniel/Labrador cross❤️ On the plus side if you name yours Jessie or Penny they both have their own songs lol "Jessie's girl" and"Penny Lane"😉

    Dog thread!🐾

Thank you everyone for the training advice! It looks like I'm going to need it! Hubby surprised us all this weekend!! Please send any and all name suggestions! DH likes warrior girl names and is pushing for Xena🙄😜 but I think she's a little too sweet to be a Xena.

    Dog thread!🐾

I was so excited to stumble across this dog thread! We are potentially getting our very first family dog, she's a Spanador(cocker spaniel/Labrador cross) and I'm wondering specifically how to train her with the chicks/chickens. Any free online puppy training recommendations would be great too if...

How to Incorporate Smaller Chicks before Larger are 10 Weeks?

We unfortunately staggered our chick purchases this Spring and have an age gap between the larger chicks and the smaller chicks. The ones that are already outside are just over 7 weeks and the one's inside range from 2 weeks and almost 4 weeks. The unfortunate thing is that we got silkies and...

    Best Coccidiosis Cures?

It seems like the magic water is actually helping, they all seem more alert today. I was using a tsp of Corid in the smaller waterers which I think are a quart each. I've been using Dumor complete chick starter chick crumbles and they have access to the guineas turkey/gamebird crumbles which the...

    Back Again

Just stopping by to introduce myself. I was active in this group 2 years ago when we first started having chickens but we moved and had to give away our old flock and are starting anew. We only did it for a couple years before so I still feel like I still have a good bit to learn. Looking...

    Best Coccidiosis Cures?

Has anyone in here had successful coccidiosis cures? I've been giving corrid but we've lost about 2 of the 50 we have. I thought we were over it but we lost another and more seemed hunched up although it's hard to tell because they're about 5 weeks and the feathers looked fluffed anyways at this...
