    It's going into the 40s today and will be dipping back into the 30s tonight. I'm thinking they'll be ok back in Chickentopia once it warms up today. They've dealt with short burts of cold in the past. We do get some cold snaps every winterm just not blizzards! lol

    I think they got wet becasue of the temp. Yes, it was snowing but when the snow landed on their warm badies, it melted I guess. They just sat there and let it - didn't shake it off or move at all. They are NOLA girls - they know Mardi Gras and King Cake, not Snowapalooza and Ice. :)

    My australorp/silkie mix has an awful looking growth on her cheek. She has had it for awhile but I notice today it has gotten ENORMOUS. She eats well and still lays about 3/4 eggs week. She certainly doesn't act like anything is bothering her at all. I'm attaching pics and hoping for some wisdom...

    Yes. Started with 5, lost 1 early to my dog, so then 4. Got 10 fertilized eggs 2 years later for broody Australorp. All 10 hatched and ended up keeping 3.     THANK YOU! What an incredible response. Chicken people are the BESTEST! Lol. My 2 girls that died were over 3 years old so it would seem to indicate Avain Leukosis rather than Marek's. Would you agree?

    Ok, none of my 4 remaining girls are exhibiting symptoms. I'm assuming they can test via blood work to diagnosis. Is that the right way to go in order to be able to make the best decision for these girls, and future additions?
