We ended up rehoming both JGs and got a Dominique and a Cuckoo Marans, both 8 weeks old. We're using the see, no touch method with them. We separated the run, putting the newbies under the coop part of the run. So far, our older girls seem calmer than before. Hopefully it works out. Fingers...
I may have to rehome both of them. I tried separating the pullet from my comets, and the JG flew over the fence and the comets tried to get her. I was afraid of them picking on a lone chick.
How do y'all intro new chickens? Any suggestions you have are appreciated!!
It's definitely sad! We live in city limits and can have 12 hens, but no roosters. I'm pretty sure other people have roos nearby, as I hear them crow in the morning. But my luck, I'd get fined.😞
I've been checking, but so far I can't see any. He's still a bit fluffy aroung the tail. Not really any tail feathers yet. Kind of a bully to the white one. We're so hoping for a hen, because it's gonna be beautiful
Thank you!! We started with 2 Golden Comet girls, and recently got 2 Jersey Giants. Sadly, we're pretty sure one is a roo and we'll have to rehome him, a we can't have roos here.😞
Hello everyone! I'm a new member here. We always had chickens when I was growing up. Probably about any breed you can think of 🙂. Along with many other types of fowl. But this is my first time having my own, and it's addictive!
