What low temperature is too cold for 4 week chicks?

I put a few of them in the coop each day and they just turn around and run right down the ramp. They'll also fly up on the ramp but won't ever go inside.

I went ahead and covered the coop. It's already pretty sheltered but I'm hoping this will keep the rest of the wind off of them.

Also, they don't have a heat lamp, just each other.

Thru They aren't completely feathered, about 90%. They haven't figured out climbing the ladder to get in the coop so they sleep in the front corner of the enclosed coop.

What low temperature is too cold for 4 week chicks?

Our babies will be 4 weeks old tomorrow. We moved them outside on Friday because temps here have been 90° high and 70° low. Tonight however the low will dip down to 54° around 6am before going back up to mid 70's. Should I bring them back inside or will they be ok? There are 6 of them and they...

    Green Queen? Pullet or Cockerell?

Ordered a batch of "pullets" from MyPetChicken.com and they all arrived unlabeled. I *think* this is the Green Queen. However "she" is starting to exhibit some roo characteristics; fearlessness, soundless crowing, giving us the "stink eye", etc. What do you think?

I got them May 13 and I think they were less than 3 weeks old. So I'd say they are now 11 to 14 weeks old. I've included a pic of them the day I got them.

It's been several months and we're still not sure if we've got hens or roosters. Please look over the updated pics and let me know what you think.

I'm not 100% positive that they are 6 weeks, but I got them 3 weeks ago and thought they were 3 weeks old at the feed store. They are mostly feathered, but are just now getting head feathers.

What should I be looking for, specifically, in the next couple of weeks to identify their sex? I did notice one of the black ones trying to crow the other day, its mouth made the motions but no sound came out. It was odd! We aren't allowed roosters where I live which is why I'm trying to...

I purchased 4 chicks, thinking they were hens, before knowing that straight run meant not sexed. In the past two weeks or so, I've learned a lot through this site and many books, and I am now starting to wonder if I have all roosters. I have two Barred Plymouth Rock and two Rhode Island Red...
