I am in Ellington, CT so we are kind of far apart, but I really want a new home for my salmon faverolle. The rest of the flock gangs up on her and draws blood. She currently is in isolation with scabs on her head. :(

Are you still looking for a couple of hens? I need to rehome a bullied salmon faverolle plus one other.

    What's damaging my coop door?

Thank you. I'll look for metal sheets.

    What's damaging my coop door?

Something is ripping the trim off my coop door, and I am afraid it will break through the door. What could do this, and how can I reinforce it? Door is OSB over a 2x3 frame.

Hen "helped" eggs hatch, any advice?

Looks like she did it again, although I can't be sure. This is what she left in the nest, but she could have trampled it by accident. :(:(

I will update tomorrow - she's still sitting pretty, and I have seen 2 chicks. Clutch of only 5...

    Leghorn crosses

The barred rock cross is called a California Gray. Looks like a barred rock but with gray stripes instead of black. Females have darker gray stripes than males.

Hen "helped" eggs hatch, any advice?

I was thinking that, too. I'll keep my eyes on her.

Hen "helped" eggs hatch, any advice?

Last time my BA hen hatched eggs, she pulled big pieces of shell off the pipped eggs. One of the chicks didn't hatch/survive. Her current clutch is due to hatch Friday. Should I be concerned, or is it OK for her to "help" the chicks hatch?
