    identification band/tagging methods

At this point they are all full grown. I made sure to wait till grown to put identifications on. But now that they're getting ready to mix with the rest of the flock I want to be able to tell them from the rest

    identification band/tagging methods

Ok... We're getting close to letting all our ducks roam together. We have 8 hatched in December who I want to put some kind of identification on first. I'm thinking of just tagging them all to make things easy. Maybe purple for the girls and green for the boys to make it easy to tell from a...

    Covered duck run ground?

The link mentioned by @azygous about types of soil is pretty awesome. It talks about drainage and how deep water settles certain times of year for your specific address and all that stuff. Our land is flat. We plan to do the deep litter method with the new duck house. I was thinking of digging...

    Covered duck run ground?

It won't let me load your link. Our dirt has a lot of rocks of all sizes. Any dirt/soil we lay on top will slowly disappear down in the rocky ground... That being said we still get some pretty good puddles. It's definitely not clay. If it helps, we are in the Olympic Foothills and on a well...

    Covered duck run ground?

Me and my husband are building a new duck house and run and a portion of the new run will be covered where we can easily apply and remove seasonal walls... I'm curious what do you use on the ground in your runs in a covered area where rain won't keep things growing? Sand? Fine grit sized...

    Introducing ducklings

The rest of the flock is 4 adults (3 Drake's 1 hen) they’re probably about a year old. There are 8 ducknagers lol so twice as many.

    Introducing ducklings

There are atleast 6 ducklings who have the hen "honk" lol and one tiny little boy squeak quack. The youngest is kinda in between so I'm not sure which way it'll go. I agree I think we’ll wait a few more weeks. The ducklings coop like space isn’t near the adult ducks to where they can all see...

    Introducing ducklings

The The adult flock I'd be introduced the ducklings to have 3 Drake's and 1 hen. Currently separated 2 and 2 with a wire wall between them in the coop and down the middle of the run. My hopes are to be able to introduce the babies and be able to open the coop and run back up so all the space...

    Introducing ducklings

At what age do you introduce ducklings to the rest of your flock? We have 8 ducklings.. The oldest is almost 9 weeks and the youngest is about 7 weeks old.
