Yes this exactly as what happened to ours, he couldn't stand or sit, if he tried to move he would slide. It seemed as if he had splayed leg or spaddled leg, a couple of other chicks had this and i splinted them with a plaster. Search google or spaddle leg and it show you how to splint it. Anyway...
We do... all ours are named by the kiddies of course.... they're good at telling them apart, we do have quite a few now. However since we have been incubating and hatching chicks we've all completly gone off eating chicken.... so ours wont make it to our table... they are safe with their names...

Well i am amazed.... yesterday afternoon the little chick looked like he was close to death, but by some miracle the sugary water seems to have helped. This Morning he is on his feet, his head is facing the right way and he is hopping about and very very alive!!!!
