    just hatched yesterday. they are sooo cute. how do you get them to eat and drink? i think im making a big deal of nothing, but i hear they are well...... dumb ive heard put a chic with them to "show" them, but is it bad to do that?

    i to just put in with shavings (pine) and yes once they find the water WATCH OUT!!! they make a swamp. i put the water feeder inside a plate with edges or small cake pan to help save liter.

    ok, i have hatched several times but this is the first. i have two chics born with an attatchment to their cords. almost like a yoke sac. looks like a placenta. what causes it.

    that is so hard not to take dry fluffy butts out. i am in the same boat i had one hatch this morning and there are 30 left. poor guy all by himself .... sit on hands sit on hands!!!!!

    I use a flashlight all the time, i have never cooked a chic with it. i think it motivates them to get out.
