Poor Speckles got even worse after this pic.. her entire back was just skin and pin feathers.. she just went poof overnight! She's now back to her gorgeous self, with even more speckles..
Hi! Wondering if those that understand genetics better than me would be able to tell me if the above cross would hatch a wild type colored chick, or if it could possibly be yellow like all my other SF? I have a SS hen that I love, and wouldn't mind mixing her with our rooster, but don't want to...
Hi all.. I have an issue. I have 10 pullets and a cockerel. I have been dealing with diarrhea, and weight loss in a good number for a couple weeks now and have visited the vet several times with a chicken, along with fecals. No worms present, no coccidia. The fecal showed budding yeast- and very...
It's so interesting- 17 chicks that hatched are doing great! They love the MHP and have progressed already to snoozing on top at 1 wk old and crashing out for the night mostly at the edge or outside the MHP. I had one side (2 MHP side by side) on high, one med. The first few nights they were all...
** edit, disregard post- I was able to find some info and ended up winging it. The wry neck has improved and she is doing better.**
Hi, so- my first hatch and two have come out so far.. one with wry neck :(.
I have Nutridrench, and will go out now and get vit E & selenium. Just need to know...

Nerves are getting the best of me.. on day 19, and apparently I have at least one internal pip as I heard cheeping from inside an egg in the incubator! I rigged up the mhp by wrapping it in a trash bag, and then in one layer of towel and bungee corded it to my frame. I'm just so worried that it...
thanks- it's a room we don't use much, it will be closed off due to cats (and the brooder is secure with hardware cloth too- just in case.) I figure it's better for them to be a bit warmer as they will be living in the space and we are just visiting until they get moved outside anyway.
Thanks all! I'm sure (but not hoping the case) that all 20 will not hatch.. we are using a room that is a/c'd but will turn that down to a nice warm temp when the hatch happens.. So ambient will be about 80 or more! 90+ in my area. Thanks for the input. Lockdown happening tonight. Will update...
