I've been researching chickens for several years, but lived in a suburban area where it wasn't practical, or even legal.

In February, 2021, as a result of the pandemic and my new ability to telecommute, I moved to some rural property in Virginia, where the previous owner had been raising 20+ chickens. The existing coop (a repurposed shed) was less than ideal.

I'm currently (April, 2021) designing a new coop and researching available chicks. I hope to have the new coop completed by the time the chicks are ready for it. I'll use the old coop as a nursery and for storage.
