I am raising one New Hampshire red that is a pullet. She is about eight weeks right now. I would say on legs and posture yours it a roo. How does it behave? Mine behaves very hen like.
I think we need to see more pictures...I think they may be barred rock. Are you sure they are Doms. Doms have rose combs. Those look like single combs to me.
I was able to re-home my roo to a young couple starting a farm that i found on Craigslist. They actually posted an add looking for a rooster. Its worth a try.
I would say they are Black Austrlorps. And you have one male and one female..which you already know. I have an 8 week old Black Ausrtlorp pullet and she looks just like the one with the small comb. I can even see the greenish tint to the feathers.. Sweet birds aren't they?I love mine.
All is well!! We i got home from work yesterday and let the chickens out it was as if she (new Austrlop) had been with them all the time. I got a brief hello and that was it. I am very relived. I will never try and introduce one chick only to an existing flock ever again. The "chicken man"...
I have a young, small flock of three chickens that i started this spring. They are 8 weeks old. Last weekend I took one of the chicks and exchanged him for a Black Austrlorp. (the chicken I exchanged was a rooster and I cant have any). I was told the new chick was also 8 weeks, but i would guess...
Okay..The rooster votes were correct. I took him into see the chicken man at a local feed store on Sunday and he confirmed that it is indeed a boy. The chicken man said he had a home for him. He gave me a 8 week Black Australorp lop..and promised me it was a hen :) Thanks for all the help!
