    Females are Toulouse, males are African, unsexed are white Chinese. The chicken yard is about 0.4 acres and the goose pasture is about 0.8 acres. So we could wind up with 2-5 males and 5-8 females. If we wind up with more than 3 males, we’ll remove the extras.

    I don't know what to do! No labored breathing. She's acting pretty normal, but her crop is huge! Please help.

    Pine straw

    I've seen DLM done with grass clippings. I was hoping to rake my yard and use pine straw as well. (My blueberries like acidic soil and nitrogen, so it seemed kind of perfect.) Now I'll have to reconsider.

    Deep litter method

    You would need 24 cubic feet. 6ft x 8 ft = 48 square feet x 1/2 (because 6 inches is half a foot) = 24 cubic feet. So five bags of 5 cubic feet should cover you.
