I have a yearold barred rock that backsup up with her chest down. Not all the time but frequently. Our other seven are not doing it and our girl is not molting. Any ideas? They get laying mash, vitamin supplements and I supply spinach kale and collard greens through our Michigan winter.
Our first egg from 2 of our hens were soft shell while our other eggs from 2 other hens are hard and perfect. Will our soft shell eggs start to firm more as the hen lays more? Our girls are between 20 and 21 weeks old and half our flock is now laying. .We have 8 total.

I just received 4 week old chicks from a hatchery and they were sent through the U.S. postal service, next day of course. They included sliced cucumbers and were sent in a box marked "live birds". Hope this helps :)
