    Chicken Breed Focus - Maline

    I have 1 hen of this breed, she is always looking for treats, eats way more food than the other hens. Seem's always hungry???

    No they won't ask to be held, ever, but if you set them on your lap and rub their bellies and between their wings, they will love it! Mine scream for HELP every time I pick them up, then they start to Purr.

    When do roosters start to crow?

    My Naked Neck roo has not even tried to crow at 12 weeks, is he hen pecked by the three hens he lives with, or what?

    "Jack" the Naked Neck Rooster

    I'm new to the chicken gig and live in Mexico. Very hot and humid here. The feed store here sells bare necks, as they are more tolerant of the heat. They have been total enjoyment, as they have great personalities.

    I think this site is great. Got 3 hens as chicks 10 weeks ago and have been searching for info. ever since. These are my first chickens and need to learn all the info I can find. Thank you for being here.
