When I checked the flock the other day, I pried open a few beaks to look for wet fowl pox. Considering I had about 0.2 seconds before they yanked their beaks away, beat me with their wings, and generally fought to escape, I decided they're all feeling fine, haha. I also didn't see anything...

A couple days ago I discovered one of my 5 year old bantam Cochin hens had two abscess on her comb. One is larger, brownish in color, and located near her nostril. The second is smaller, white, and near the back of her comb. Later I found two more white abscesses on her feet on the areas...

I've been stalking all their social media for the rescue page and looking through their website and stuff. I also talked to the owner, who offered to let me come see the place which I will probably also do!

Update: I think I found a rescue group who will give the boys a home! They also have a network of people who adopt chickens from them, so if they don't take the boys one of the people they know probably will.

I have found with my broodies that if they are brooding in a less than desirable nest, it can be much easier to move them once a couple of the chicks have hatched.
