    Murder Mystery

Nope. The run is competely covered with chicken wire. I'm almost 100% sure it was another hen or my roo, I just don't understand why. Maybe my roo tried to mount and clawed her on accident???

    Murder Mystery

Nope. They stay locked up in the coop & run 24 hrs/day. 6ft chain link staked flat on the ground surrounds everything (coop & run). No digging occurred, no holes in the chicken wire or coop, and no other chickens were harmed.

    Incubating Momma

I'm sure there are many stories similar to mine (I'm a beginner): I got a few hens as a hobby/pets for the kids. The chickens have adapted well, I'm trying to learn as much as possible, enjoying the great tasting eggs, and the kids LOVE to retrieve eggs. However recently, I found out one of my...

    Crossbreeding Chickens??

Sorry if this is a dumb question. Do chickens only mate with their own breed? Or is it common to get a crossbreed (like a mutt dog)?

    Gender Help Please

I need a little help please… I think I may have an unwanted rooster in my flock. Here are my signs of the “hen” in question: - She is VERY large (2x the size): it may be the bread of chicken, but am unsure. I was given the chickens without knowing their age/background. - I caught her standing...

    A couple of egg questions

Ok, So i've gotten a couple of eggs now and the whole family is excited. But I have a couple of questions that I'll need to know for the future: How long can an egg sit in the coop before it spoils? Once retrieved from the coop and resting nicely in my fridge... how long is an egg good for...
