How to stop duck from scratching herself?
She has wounds all over her head and nose... I don't know if they are self-inflicted, or from the geese? Now she is scratching at herself. I don't want the wounds to get infected or worsen. Can I put something on her feet to stop her scratching???- joya250

thanks. She is now scratching herself, over the wounds... now I wonder if she did this to herself?!?! OR she is itching because the wounded area bothers her?- joya250

I have one believed-to-be female duck (approx 9 months) and two chinese brown geese (male & female)... They live together in the back yard. Two weeks ago, I noticed my duck had what appeared to be a wound near her eye. I thought perhaps it was a scratch, maybe she snagged herself on a sharp...- joya250

They eat grass and some plants... but won't eat lettuce or spinach or other leafy greens that we humans eat. Silly Geese. ;) -

Thank you. I can't get anything without pesticides, unfortunately. And here they use stronger pesticides that are usually banned in the states. :( Oats are available. I am assuming UNCOOKED? Is one type better than another? It is rainy season here, so any food I put out will get... -

Oh no, I have been feeding my geese corn for years. Unfortunately we are limited here. When I ask for specific "goose" or "duck" food, they look at me like I have 5 heads! haha. Corn is the feed for all "aves" (birds). Sounds like I will need to get creative. Yes, she is beautiful... -
