    Help with Coop Design

I don't know why I didn't think of the apron idea!! Much easier! :p we have super hard claw soil, took forever just setting posts for my raised garden beds. This will be much easier. Thanks!!

    Help with Coop Design

I'm keeping 6 chickens. I was planning on putting the roosts at about 2" so they would be half a foot above the nesting boxes. We did plan on burying the wire but I've been playing back and forth with the concrete idea. I'm now thinking of just running the coop all the way down so I can walk...

    Help with Coop Design

I love the barn look of your coop! I always heard red could make birds aggressive lol. I wasn't sure so I was going to go with a yellow color and fiesta type colors. I'm even thinking of getting sombre hat lights for the coop lighting haha!

    Help with Coop Design

I'm thinking about putting sand under the coop portion and possibly putting a small misting system on a timer under there because of how hot it gets here! Then maybe I could just rig up a scooper on a broom handle to keep from having to climb under all the time haha. I'm glad the size is good...

Hey guys, I made a post asking for some advice with building my coop. If your handy and feel like taking a peek at what I've got so far I'd appreciate it! :D https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/782508/help-with-coop-design

    Help with Coop Design

So I'm in the process of designing our coop and run. I'm still trying to finalize details but I'm not sure what would be best lol. I figured I'd ask some of the veteran coop builders for advice haha! This is what I have drawn out so far. The back side of the coop will set up to the back of...

Are you sure you were looking at the correct stuff? Because at Lowe's a wye is 5 bucks... and the 10' is around $13. These were the 4" PVC. I also know my local hardware store will have shorter PVC pipe for cheaper from cuts they have made, so I could pick up a 4 or 5' length for a couple...

Can't hurt to try!! Especially for a fairly cheap design like the PVC feeder :)

I read some good things about this design and how it helps stop wasteing food! I'm going to be building one of these here soon. I'm also going to be picking one of these up (http://www.homedepot.com/p/Oatey-1-1-2-in-Plastic-Mechanical-Test-Plug-33400/100342630#.UZPF58oTSTt) to put down in the...

I'm really hoping I can talk my husband into holding them lol, I work A LOT anyways a d when I work nights I don't get time for anything lol. He's going to have to help keep them tame so I can cuddle birds when I get home :p

If it wasn't for the fact that I'd probably squish them, I'd have them all cuddled up in my arms forever! :p I just love fluffy little chicks.
