Peahen vs peacock as friend for existing peacock

Thank you for all the advice! I’ve looked locally and found a 6 yo peacock who has free ranged his whole life and a pair of 4yo peacocks who are currently penned, and am trying to decide which would be the best option. Understand I would need to monitor their personalities and it’s hard to tell...

Peahen vs peacock as friend for existing peacock

Makes a lot of sense! When I moved on to my property, this peacock and his mate were already there. There was also a younger male who eventually flew away when he got his feathers. The hen was aged and recently passed so I’m trying to figure out the best replacement but I feel like since he’s...

Peacock poop - is this normal ?

Hello I was wondering if this is normal peacock poop. Usually my boy has brown harder poop but I’ve noticed more of this lately. I have started to add a little bit of kale to his treats a couple of times - not sure if this might cause this? He is up to date with worming and he free ranges.

Thank you! I wondered about that too although it is 17 hectares. There used to be another male but we believe he flew away

Peahen vs peacock as friend for existing peacock

Hello I have a free ranging peacock who recently lost his peahen mate. He is completely free range, he lived on the property before me. I feed him a bit but mostly he forages himself and then roosts in the trees at night. I’m trying to decide whether to get him another peahen or a few peacocks...
