My Buff has been brooding for a few weeks and we tried everything. Then I read an article that said put her in a cage with food and water anf light. Over night till the afternoon and it worked! She's out playing and not going in brooding.
We have 17 birds and avg 11 eggs a day. Not bad for winter. We just acquired 5 more hens that we slowly intergraded and they layer the first night we got them with the exception of one that had to be placed in time out until she learned to get along. We have 5 cockerels all sharing the same...
Thank you. Buying small bags at a time gets expensive! I acquired 5 - one year old hens that. I have in a separate temporary coop that are molting really bad. Once they are better I have to figure out how to incorporate them in with the others. Of. Course my chickens are spoiled rotten hopefully...
