I bought the drinkers from Foys pigeon supplies...3394 Spanish Divided Drinker/Feeder-but you can use any size plastic container that will hold the heater. I got the heaters from H&M on bird bath heaters on Amazon.
I have 6x8' Coop that is inside a fenced in run that is 25x20 with dear netting over all of it and I keep the pop door open all the time except for when the nights get below 10F. My 11 girls have done just fine. Just make sure the pop door is located on the opposite side of the prevailing winds.
I use drinkers and use bird bath heaters. I have 2 drinkers each with 50W heater and one with 80W heater all in plastic drinkers. They all work great to keep the water from freezing. Coldest night so far was 7F and none of them froze. Best of all when they run dry they will not melt or burn...
