I bought mine online along with a digital temp / hydrometer. Load them up and let it go. My first batch without it, i forgot to turn them on a couple of days. 50% hatch rate. With the turner almost 70%.

I have a cage that is 1/3 enclosed for cooler weather and 2/3 wire bottom. Building a new one now 8 feet long. 5 feet wire 3 feet solid bottom. Have 9 adult quail now, just hatched out 13 chicks- 1 week old. Thats the reason for the larger cage.
Glad you asked this question. I just hatched my first 15 out of 25 eggs turning by hand. I forgot a couple days to turn at night so i bought an automatic turner. I had a few hatch around day 16.
