In our journey to become more self-sufficient, my wife and I have been working on our suburban homestead for 3 years now. We both work full time and our children are all in college now so we have ramped up our efforts. We have been waiting 4 years for our village to legalize coops and finally, they have come through! We garden and can our own food. Now we can add fresh eggs of our own and stop driving to a nearby farm for our needs.
