Thank you, good info. It is definitely NOT Mareks. no matching symptoms aside from diarrhea. They have had a couple of the leukosis symptoms so i will look into that a bit further. The Only one that died suddenly was my 8.5 y/o barred rock. I've had 4 others die from illness in the past 8+...

Sick Hen. Thin, Dull feathers, lethargic not eating

Also Abdomen is fine as well, somewhat firm, not swollen, I did massage/palp to see if egg was stuck. I do think she was laying soft/thin shell eggs earlier this spring. Have been giving them ground egg shells in mash along with their free feed oyster, they did come out strangely oblong for a...

Sick Hen. Thin, Dull feathers, lethargic not eating

Hi Wyorp No signs of mites or lice. Just the runny poo, and lackluster feathers, loss of weight and appetite. I suspect that or fungus bc of those symptoms and the runny yellow green poo that’s quite pungent. She hasn’t been eating much and her crop has been empty since I discovered her facing...

Swollen (Firm) abdomen - labored breathing

Vet examination deduced she had an ostrich egg size solid mass. Tumor or some other type mass that was crushing her organs. Not much they could do for her. I opted to have her euthanized, and end her suffering. One thing to note is she (the vet) said it is illegal to administer BAYTRIL to fowl...

Swollen (Firm) abdomen - labored breathing

Have appointment with vet today. She’s still so strong, no egg, little pellets of poo. She will only eat the yogurt, just giving a couple tablespoons a day with milk thistle for liver support. I haven’t named the girls since my first 8. But if she survives the vet appt. I will name her DIAMOND!
