One keet lethargic and not active like others in the brooder

Hi all, I have a guinea fowl keet that is just under a week old, I moved it to the brooder pen a couple of days ago with the other keets that hatched a bit before it. It is a bit smaller than the others and had to integrate on its own as it hatched late, and recently I’ve noticed it has been...

@Debbie292d @kattabelly @SnackMeat thank you for all the advice, I’m so pleased to say that the little one is hatched and well! Baby wasn’t fully done absorbing the yolk so was very weak and unable to stand at first, I monitored him in the incubator overnight and gave him a little water this...

Thank you, it’s reassuring to know I’m not the only one that’s done this😓 and glad to hear yours have hatched okay after the fact, I hope this little guy will be the same!

Here’s a closer picture, unfortunately I can’t make out anything under its wing and head. There’s just quite a bit of dry membrane and blood. It’s been chirping as I’ve been wetting it, and just breathing shallowly when back in the incubator, but no more progress yet

thank you so much, I checked this morning and one has hatched but the other with the bloody membrane is still holding tight in there. When I was rewetting the membrane just now, it was opening and closing its beak quite fast so not a chewing motion but sort of. It’s wriggling around a bit but...

Not a great photo but you can see how open they are, I feel very stupid for opening them up so much. The one at the back bled slightly and has the brown/tight membrane. I think they are exactly 3 weeks now. Not moving much at all and I’ve probably weakened them a whole lot with all my...

Please help, this is my first time with hatching chicks and I am caring for them for my parents while they’re away. I had two eggs that had pipped slightly yesterday but come today they still hadn’t made progress, so I attempted to widen the hole a bit more and revealed their beaks through the...
