It can take a while or no time at all. I always encourage the birds after they are down in the bottom by putting treats the whole way up the ramp and some on their perches before you know it they will get the idea of the ramp and to perch at night. When I come back later in the day somehow the...
I have seen pipe cleaners used to split the leg. Then tape the leg. not so tightly to cut off circulation but enough to form a cast. I would use something to protect the leg from tape sticking to the leg. I have seen a hammock made to support the bird while it healed. I can't remenber the...
I found that there was less fluctuastion the closer the thermostat was to the light bulb ( it caused the light to cycle on/off more) . If It was futher away there was a larger temperature swing in my incubator. I noticed this every time i moved something. like bumping stuff when taking out...

you will probably need to put them in for the night. I put treats up the ramp to entice them. after a couple of days they got it. They had no trouble going down. I put them on the roost every night till they got it. Don't give up.

In my run I have clover, alfalfa, timothy, brome , and orchard grass. The chickens continue to eat it and continue to live. I annual over seed it to keep the mud down.
My birds don't seem to miss another when I take from the flock. I have done this now twice and currently I am down to just the two best birds of my flock. Life just goes on.
