6 week old Tractor Supply chicks

Thank you guys :) This is my 4th time raising chicks, and I am just so in love with this group. They were all very active and friendly from day one. When I open their cage, they hop out and some even like to perch on my shoulder or leg. I am wondering if how I got them made a difference, as my...

6 week old Tractor Supply chicks

Hey everyone, decided to share some pics of my chicks I bought at TSC 6 weeks and 2 days ago! I am not sure how old the chicks were when I got them, but they looked days old if that, so I start from when I first got them. Anyway, I have 3 barred rock and 3 red comet chicks from TSC. One of the...

    integrating question

I think I will be leaving them in the cage outside with the older girls until they get a tad bit bigger lol! My chicks are only about 7 weeks old anyway. Despite all the space the 6 hens have to roam, within minutes of letting the babies out, the hens became very interested and started pecking...

    integrating question

Yes, they are able to walk around them when they're in the hutch. I just plop it in middle of the yard lol. At first they were pretty curious, but now they ignore the chicks. They only seem to pay them attention when I give the chicks some treats. I think I might try it out, but I will be...

I have 3 six week old barred Plymouth rocks but only one seems to be thriving, the other 2 barely ha

What do you feed them first of all? The others look healthy, but yes the one is very small for it's age. I had one chick that was a runt before, but she was never healthy and perished early. Maybe try feeding the runty ones poly-vi-sol by enfamil, without the iron one. See if that helps them...

    integrating question

So the temp outside lately is warm enough to let the chicks have some playtime outside, but come in at night. Right now I keep them inside a cage rabbit hutch (basically a caged pen with upper portion they can enter). My question is, do you think they'd be safe enough from the adult hens if I...

    Tractor Supply Chicks

Awesome! Thanks so much on confirming my suspicions. I was looking to get just a single rooster this year for my hens, looks like I found him! Will have to baby him so he doesn't turn too mean, although I'm not sure how well that will work in the end. He already seems to be the more aggressive...

    Tractor Supply Chicks

Have an update since I posted last. Last time I posted about my frustration about receiving three roosters. However, since the chicks have grown and feathered out a bit, I believe Tractor Supply had their breed labelled incorrectly. The black chicks were labelled as black sex links (aka...

Not have much luck with TSC chicks at the moment...

All 6 of the chicks I purchased 3 days ago are quite healthy. HOWEVER, 5 of the 6 arrived with pasty butt. Otherwise seem pretty cheery.

    Tractor Supply Chicks

I recently bought chicks from tractor supply, and am a bit unhappy with the experience. I bought 3 "pullets" (female chicks) and 3 black sex-links. I am still a chicken novice (only been in the game for 4 years) and didn't know you could tell what sex the black sex links were from birth...
