    7 out of 9 eggs hatched. They are out of nesting box and walking around with mom. They are in the run with one rooster and another hen. I saw rooster peck at chick. Should I separate them?

    Congratulations on your hatch!! I just hatched 8 chickens from a silver laced Wyandotte too and cuckoo maran hen. I have six little black chicks and everyone has a white dot!! I sure hope that doesn't mean all Roos!!!

    I had to help the chick that had been stuck for over 24 hours. I could tell the shell was stuck to it. Now that it is out, it still has some membrane and shell on its back close to its neck and it is in the fetal position. I will not stand or lift head. Still peeping and rolling around...

    I have not helped yet. I have had two more hatch with no problem. It is chirping and moving. It has been almost 24 hours since it broke through. It looked like it was zipping really good then got stuck.

    Thanks! I'll keep waiting. This one started last night. I was able to see black fluff. And this is as far as it has gotten. I have another one piped and broke out within 5 minutes!! I'm just worried but I know nature has to take its course!!

    Humidity is about 60. And its beak is near bottom floor. I thought it would be up.

    I need help with what to do! I'm hatching my second batch of chicks. The first one has piped a lot but the white membrane is still there. I wondered if I need to raise humidity.

    First hatch with Little Giant

    I have both. I just bought a new one. They are not reading the same but too late to calibrate them. I am seeing some peeping and one is chirping a lot. Can I tell by looking at inside shell if there is enough moisture?
