I'm so excited! My 14 year old daughter went out this morning to feed and water our chicks. I heard her scream then came running inside to tell me there is an egg in the coop! Our chicks are almost 20 weeks. I'm pretty sure this one belongs to "Gladys" our black austrolorp.
Funny thing about "Gladys" when I hold her or she sits on my lap, her tail goes up and she sings to me. Now we're thinking she just misses me! I'm wrapped around those feathers for sure! Haha
She's eating and drinking and let her out to range tonight. She was scratching and singing and her tail went up for a few minutes. I'm wondering if she is just in need of more time outside. I had them in a brooder in the garage until about two weeks ago. I moved them into the coop and have kept...
Oh that's good to hear! I'm like a first time parent. :)
Yesterday was the first time I've seen her like that. I just came out to check her today and they are still down but she is walking around and foraging. I haven't been with them as much as usual. My mother in law is in the hospital.
I noticed tonight that my black Australorp had her tail feathers down. Is this something I should be concerned about? She's approximately 9 weeks old now.
