We have one pale barred rock as well. Her feathers were a very light grey & white stripe instead of black when a chick. Her comb is pink and her feathers are a dark grey in contrast to her sisters...
We actually have one barred rock that is also pale in color. She is definitely a hen. Looks just like the rest but her comb is pink and her feathers are grey instead of black. She has darkened with age. I was looking for answers too. Lol. All of mine came from a very reputable breeder.
