My coop is under a cherry tree and a maple tree. The cherries were buggy this year. I'd like to spray the tree, but am worried about the chickens as their run is under the tree. I also want to go organic. Is there an organic bug spray that won't hurt my chickens that I can use on my tree?
I've been waiting for spring break and a break in the rain. I am going to start building my coop today. It's not sunny, but it's not raining either! Gotta love Oregon's non rainy days! Pictures to come as I get them and a round of Cap'n and coke as well!
Hello and good morning everyone! I'm glad I found this site as I'm 'new' to raising chickens. The last time I had chickens I was a young girl. (no, I won't say how long ago that was! ) I currently have 2 Americana's and 2 Gold Laced Wyandottes. I've had them since they were naught but a handful...
I've watched your video and looked at a lot of coops and have gotten inspired to make one that looks like an old time saloon and call it "The Golden Egg:.
I'm sorry if I'm asking a dumb question. I've not raised chickens before and don't rightly know, but if I don't use any fertilizers and stuff on my lawn, can I just give my chickens the grass clippings after I mow?
I liked the video, and also liked your feeder idea. Thanks for the wonderful ideas. I'm building my first coop this week. Nothing as fine as yours but serviceable.
