Everyone is now paying their rent - 4 beautiful eggs in shades of brown, blue and green from my 4 hens. It's an unusual day when all 4 don't lay one now.

I have one and I love it! An expensive investment (be prepared for a spouse talking about his hundred dollar breakfast!) but my 4 hens are doing great, and we even had a few days of -27F weather. No frostbite!

My easter egger and RIR laid their first double yolkers on the same day too! It was -27 out. Now, a month later, just the RIR will throw out a double yolker every now and then. So weird!

I have the Eglu cube with the 3 meter run for my 4 hens. Plenty of room and they seem to get along very well.

I close the coop with the girls in it, lock them out of the nesting box and put the food in there for the night so predators don't come looking for it. My birds are fine and don't eat or drink during the night.
